Italian American Chamber of Commerce The Province of Naples announces the Italian fashion and design exhibit, "Styles and Design of Italian Creativity," open to the public from July 15 to August 5th at the Campania Region Office at 4 East 54 Street, 4th floor, New York City. The exhibit will showcase an overview of designs that resemble sculptural masterpieces by the best names of Italian fashion, interacting with precious jewels skillfully crafted in Naples and its hinterland.
The exhibit includes designs worn by celebrities, such as Anna Magnani, Ingrid Bergman and Jacqueline Kennedy, in the sixties; 43 Italian fashion creations designed by Valentino, Capucci, Lancetti, Ken Scott, Roberta da Camerino, Fernanda Gattinori, Giorgio Armani and Versace; and contemporary jewels created by top masterjewellers from Naples, Torre del Greco and the Neapolitan Province. The exhibit is under the patronage of the President of Italy, Carlo Azelio Ciampi; the Campania Region; the Province of Naples; The European Union; The Commission of Tourism and Productivity of the Province of Naples, and the Italy America Chamber of Commerce of New York.
Corals, jewels crafted in 18k gold with unmatched workmanship and seductive brooches will all be on display. Additionally, a beautiful selection of sensual cameos, once common Naples souvenirs, will also be featured. With gorgeous designs now sold in high-end stores, the art of cameo design is still a thriving art, in which Naples and the Campania Region of Italy undoubtedly lead.
A cocktail reception and show preview will be held on July 14, at 6 p.m., at the Campania Region office, 4 East 54th Street, 4th floor. An Italian fashion show and gala dinner will present dresses and jewels by top contemporary Italian designers residing in the Province of Naples on July 28th at Cipriani on 42nd Street. |
